Mo*Con III
Well, I am off to Indiana (Indianapolis to be specific) for Mo*Con III. A Horror writers convention held in a church. Last year was a blast. This year will be a blast plus I will be meeting up with Derek and Sharon Gilber from PID Radio, Mind Spike, and a lot of other great people.
It is only $10 for the whole convention, so if you are in the area, stop in and say “hi”.

Updated Plan!!!
It still amazes me the way God can, and often will, just kick me in the head from the least expected of places. This time it came through thinking about the future of The Misfit Christians Network, my podcasts, my writing (or lack there off), and lamenting the demise of one of my favorite podcast casts, Come Let Me Whisper as well as an email from Steven Barns titled “What if you KNEW you could not fail” from his LifeWrite mailing list. And a comment by Ken Turetzky about going “secular” with my podcasts. This all combined to formed the boot that struck the side of my head and made me realize, I am spreading my creative energies to thin and I am focused on doing the easy stuff rather than going for a real challenge.
The easy stuff is doing a music/OTR podcast that I am basically phoning in every week, and that I am more or less and bored with doing.
The easy stuff is winging every podcast rather than making a real effort and taking the time to make them better.
The easy stuff is more of less interviewing the same people over and over.
All this allows me to avoid the “hard” stuff or the real challenge.
The challenge of really working on improving my podcast by writing copy in advance and improving sound quality.
The challenge of really working on my movie and book reviews (as well as critical watching, read, and listening skills) to become a better critic.
The challenge of writing my own fiction and essays and articles.
And the challenge of really taking on the mission/vision/calling God has given me to minister to the “misfits”.
Now that is not to say that any of the easy stuff has no value, but God is not about mediocrity. He is about us living up fully to how he made us and who he made us to be. So I am going to accept the challenges presented by accepting the mission/vision/calling God have given me. But what does that mean in real terms, well, it means this:
The Snark Tank Radio Variety Hour podcast is done after the next episode (which I have already recorded/produced and is waiting to be published.)
The Audio Files Monthly podcast is done. I will incorporate the interview I already have record with Basil Sands into one of my other podcasts.
Snark Tank Radio Late Night will be changed back to the Snark Infested Waters name and will be going monthly after the next episode. It will go back to a one hour format and incorporate the rants, reviews, interviews, and music people love with a new focus on quality. (I am planning on moving the release of this to the third Saturday of each month.)
The HORROR of it All Monthly will stay monthly but will be a “serious” horror and science fiction review show in a one hour format with a main feature and a selection of other reviews. (I am planning to keep the release of this on the first Saturday of each month.)
I will be spending more time on creating/promoting The Misfit Christians Network, which will include designing a between look and feel for the site, writing articles and essays for the site, and exploring other ideas for/aspects of The Misfit Christians Network.
And finally, I will be focusing more on writing, whether that be in the form of fiction, articles, essays, and/or show copy.
I will also be focusing on stuff at home as well, but that is neither here nor there in relation to my blog and podcast. And I do plan to have some fun along the way.
Thank you all for your support and staying with me on this bumpy ride.
