Rimms and his team were already dead. They just had to hold Korrag long enough for Roberts to trigger the failsafe.

A searing pain between Roberts’ eyes blinded him, and he nearly fell as he reached the door to Control. As he stumbled, he cried out in horror: “Oh, God! Jimmy!”

“Tau Prime Epsilon,” Roberts interjected.

“Yessir!”

Warning klaxons began sounding throughout the station.

When the video feed went live to show creatures crawling out of the wreckage, Jeff decided perhaps random chance had less to do with this event than he had thought. Then tentacles ripped the probe asunder.

It was supposed to be a routine flight from the International Space Station to the research outpost on the Moon. Just another simple and boring supply run. Tony had made this same run dozens of times. Easy work and good pay made his job enjoyable. Plenty of time to catch up on sleep and reading as the computers flew the ship for him. About four hours in to the flight a space rock the size of a basketball slammed into the side of the ship. The ships atmosphere explosively decompressed. Intestines and offal painted the walls of the crippled ship.

Their suits couldn’t be used without permission, unless… Marty sighed. Sure, Barney was dead, but he had stunk. A quick whiff confirmed the suit carried on the legacy. A klaxon blared. Floating outside, ejected through the hull breach, he considered seeing if space smelled better.

Norman constantly felt sickly and unwell. His nephew Paul took care of all the medical subscriptions and supplies. Norman suspected that Paul was a cheapskate, but he meant well. He talked often about preserving the estate. Things started to look real bad when the new in-house orderly took off with the large supply of pills, presumably to sell on the street. The funny thing was that Norman began to feel better without the medications. Paul was away when this happened so Norman called a doctor friend and when examined, it was discovered that the pills were causing the poor health!

The end of the world is nothing like the movies. Well, except for the zombies, sorta. Humans aren’t affected by the zombie curse, or plague, infection, whatever you want to call it. Not animals or even plants. The target for the zombie … whatever, is pies.

Not just nice, homemade pies, but the frozen ones too, and even those flaky pouch pie things in the plastic for 79cents.

It’s really bad, worse than the movies. They sneak up and fly at your face. If they hit, bye bye chewy center, pulled right through your nose.

“I knew you were a fake!”

Karl startled and dropped the entire chainsaw into his mouth. He turned to see a man pointing a gadget at him.

“You’re just opening up an inter-dimensional portal!”

Karl grabbed the gadget and tossed it into his mouth, it disappeared. Then he tossed in the man.
